SECOND SHOW-AN ANALYSIS

At the start of the film, ther is a shaky camera that effectively depicts the unpredictable life that the protagonists of the film lalu(dulquar) and kurudi(sunny wayne) go through, the moment u realise that the movie is going to work as a dark and engaging slice of life tale the director indulges in a very unnecessary over the top action set-piece in which our protagonist lalu is seen bashing a group of drunkards single handedly.

The same thing unfortunately applies for the whole film too,the making of second shows oozes a lot of freshness yet the writer cannot think of anything else other than using the same copy paste formulae to negotiate tricky plot situations ,how else could u describe that predictable scene in which lalu on a urgent visit to his cousins house whom he had abandoned right from childhood hs a daughter whom he hd beat up in an encounter just moments before.

Second show if you delete all those trappings associated with it for the most time operates a standard revenge saga between lalu and a ruthless criminal visnubudhan yet it is disappointing that it fails inorder to push all the right emotional buttons that is necessary ,you don't get shocked when an exaggerated comic scene connects to a bloody violece as vavachan gets bumped off by vishnubudhan for playing pranks on one of his chief men.there is none of those nervous anxiety that script serves up later when budhan himself calls up lalu inorder to work for him and thus there is none of those rousing excitement ehen lalu finally gathers all those steam in oredr to make budhan feel the taste of his own medicine.

Second show, atleast for me was meant to be a film that would quiet courageously go-in those rather unseen areas and surprise us with it's unpredictability, but for that sake what it does is unleash quiet a few twist and turns in it's penultimate moments that are far from convincing and pull this film further down.

Second show for sure isn't a bad film, there are moments that really work like the spoof spun on climax of the cult movie chitram the emotion connected with it also sounds true. Though rohini iswasted in a clearly stereotype role some of those scenes with her son seem so sinciere not to mention that nicely done celebration sequence at the start.the romance in second show does have it's moments of inspired lunacy as well but the way the whole track ends makes the whole thing look a bit too manipulative.

Call it what you may,but it's the technique razzle-dazzle that is on display is easily the fim's finest thing.pappu does a superb work with his camera and the whole movie is very well edited.the tracks that are composed by avial are definitely worth mentioning and give the film the required feel.

Performances is definitely the area where the movie gets most of it's selections right.sunny wayne is as live wire as possible as sunny's aide and makes a confident debut, gautami has potential but is let down by an inconsistent characterisation and the most expected entrant in film field dulquar salman doesn't disappiont.he sure has a long way to go with his acting skills but has a supremely gifted screen presence and an effective baritone which should make his stay firm in the film-field.

In the end as much as you are all for the enthusiasum and energy the young tropes behind the film quiet definitely show case, you can;t help but lament the inexperience that comes with it,that has let this film down on some of it's key moments

VERDICT-watch it for yourselves, this atleast deserves that

RATING-a generous.2.5/5
