  NEELAKASHAM PACHAKADAL CHUVANNA BHOOMI

Designed entirely as a road movie,Neelkasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi directed by acclaimed cinematographer Sameer Tahir is undoubtedly a refreshing experience. But it's the lazy writng that stops it from becoming a truly memorable movie.

NPCB is one of those movies that hits the road straight away.Qasi (Dulquar Salman) an engineering graduate who is just out of college is on a quest to nagaland in order to find his lady love who were seperated him due to some unforeseen circumstances.Joining him in this herculean task is his college buddy Suni(Sunny wayne)

NPCB is indeed one of those movies which demands a certain amount of  patience from its viewers. Its a breezy movie that moves at a mild pace but its also true that there is nothing other than visual wizardry to be found in this movie. Its only towards the end that the script comes up with something substantial, until then its upto the directorial prowess of Sameer to steer the ship forward to which he whole-heartedly obliges and atleast on few occasions clearly wins over your heart.Theres certain degree of warmth to be had in those portions that unfold in Puri,Kolkata and film is on firm terrain as long as it stays with the road-trip

Same cannot be said for those flash back scenes which appear to be loosely scripted and jolts the nice and easy momentum of the movie.Hashir fails to create any real memorable moment between his lead couple and their seperation doesnt evoke any real sense of pathos

The humunguous 150 minutes odd length stars bothering you after a point, and though final act in Nagaland is gobsmackingly picturised.your attention clearly starts to dip.

Actors in the movie  hold it together from ripping apart ,Sunny Wayne clearly towers above the role and through his suggestive gestures help it from not slipping into a caricature and its hard to take your eyes of Dulquar salman who makes handsome use of his superb screen presence.Others in the cast do not make much of an impression but seem fine in their parts

Though the movie succeeds in becoming an absolute treat to the eyes, its still disappointment that engulfs you as you walk from your seats since you realise that Sameer's dream project has clearly failed to match up to his riveting debut

2.75/5
